MAKING DISCOVERIES

Our infants are growing physically as well as intellectually each day.  We wanted to take the time to share some of the discoveries we have made over the past few weeks.

Birthday balloons can provide hours of entertainment.

Hats are not only useful outside, they make us look great indoors as well.

Singing is a great pass time.

Did you know our friends have feet too?

On sunny days we get pretty light shows.

Ice can be tasty and fun to play with.

Indoors and Out, We're All About!

Now that the weather is getting warmer, we are spending more time outdoors and our infants are having a blast exploring everything around them.

We catch some sun...

we have a ball...

and we relax and enjoy the ride while it last.

As much as we would like to stay outside all day, there comes a time when we have to return to the classroom.  We still find lots of exciting things to do indoors as well!

First, we help each other cool off with a nice cold drink of water.

Next, we cuddle up with some of our favorite toys.

Finally, we strike up some conversations with our close friends.

Workin' Out at the Gym!

We are having a great time in the infant room.  One of our favorite areas to hang out is under the play gym.  It gives our babies a good opportunity to explore different objects in their environment, as well as becoming more aware of their own body and its movement.

This little one his showing off her leg muscles by kicking to make the toys move.

These two are spending quality time together at the gym.  A workout is always better with a partner to support you!

Who doesn't like to people watch at the gym?

Swinging the toys between them, these good friends make working out look easy and fun.

We Are Such Close Friends

Over the last few weeks, we have noticed what great bonds the children are making socially with each other. We snapped a few pictures of them being friendly to each other and thought we would share them with you.

We are having a great conversation with one another.

Look at how polite we are as we eat lunch together.

This little man is playing a tune while his friend dances.

It's fun to make our friends laugh.  This little girl is playing peek-a-boo with her little friend.

Oh, How We Grow

Our babies are changing and growing everyday.   We are excited to share with you some milestones we are seeing in our classroom!

Language Development
This young lady is showing an early sign of her language development.  Taking an interest in books is a great way to start an early appreciation for literature.

Motor Skills
Seeing objects she wants and moving toward them is a hard task that she is having fun learning.
.
Hitting the balloon and following it is a great way to work out his large motor muscles.

He also works on his small motor skills by picking up small objects and placing them into his mouth.

He is showing off his big muscles by climbing up onto the table.

Social Skills

Our social and problem-solving skills are tested each day.
We are doing a great job sharing and taking turns.

Emotional Development

I did a great job settling myself down before nap by reading a book.

BABY, OH BABY

One of our infants began to walk around the classroom pretending different toys were her baby.  We then got the idea to bring the baby dolls in the room.  We have had so much fun doing dramatic play with our new toys!  We have discovered so many different ways to play.

I roll around the floor exploring the different features on my baby's face.

I am using a baby wipe to give my baby a bath.

Because I have learned to do it so well, I am teaching my baby to crawl.

We are dressing our baby up in a beautiful scarf.

I am giving my babies a play date.

Every baby loves a good kiss!

And sometimes we need to be reminded which babies are our friends and which are our toys!

Five Ways the Infants Survive the Winter Weather

1. We are sure to always bundle up, in style!

2. We have lots of fun using our fingers to create a beautiful piece of art.  We enjoy exploring the texture by squeezing the paint in our hands.  (Be sure to check our picture out, it's hanging on the wall in our room!)

3. We keep ourselves entertained with a little music.

4. We find a warm place to cuddle up and relax.

 5. We take in the great views!

When all else fails, we embrace the elements.  Who knew snow could be so fun to play in and so yummy?
